This appendix defines the acronyms that are used in the Commerce Store Accelerator documentation.

CIM: Configuration & Installation Manager. An Oracle Commerce tool used to configure, assemble, and deploy Oracle Commerce server instances to an application server.

EAC: Endeca Application Controller. Controls, manages, and monitors components in your Guided Search implementation. It is installed with the Platform Services package.

SEO: Search engine optimization. Optimizing a web site so that it appears higher in a search engine’s results list, thereby increasing the likelihood that users will see it.

REST: Representation State Transfer services, also called Web Services. A widely supported standard for packaging remote procedure calls in an XML-based structure. The Dynamo Application Framework includes tools that allow you to create custom Web Services that call methods on Nucleus components. These custom Web Services can expose methods on existing Oracle Commerce Platform Nucleus components, or on Nucleus components you write yourself. You can call these Web Services from an external application client, thereby allowing a client to communicate with a server to retrieve and manage data.
