Which index fields are examined for possible matches with the shopper's search string.
You determine which index fields are examined for possible matches with the shopper's search string by configuring a search interface. The search interface also affects the order in which matching records appear in results lists. For more information, see Configuring search interfaces.
The order in which the records that match the shopper's search string are listed in the search results.
You determine the order of records in search results by configuring a relevance ranking strategy. The relevance ranking strategy comprises one or more modules, each of which specifies its own ranking criteria. You can also configure records to be sorted according to the value of a particular common property, such as price (ascending or descending order).
