The names of dimensions, dimension values, and properties must conform to the NCName conventions for XML elements, as follows:
Can include any of: alphanumeric characters (A-Z and 0-9), dollar signs ($), underscores (_), and periods (.)
Must begin with an underscore (_), dollar sign ($), or any letter A-Z in either upper case or lower case.
Cannot consist solely of numerals
The NCName conventions are required to support EQL filters, which support features such a record boost and bury.
