With Oracle ILOM 3.0.12 and later, a Host-to-ILOM Interconnect communication channel is available to enable you to communicate locally with Oracle ILOM from the host operating system (OS) without the use of a network management connection (NET MGT) to the server.
The Host-to-ILOM Interconnect is available on the latest Oracle servers and the can provide a more reliable and potentially faster data transfer rate for Oracle Hardware Management Pack CLI tools than traditional KCS interfaces.
Accessing the service processor using the Host-to-ILOM Interconnect requires that you either provide credentials manually or set up a host credentials cache using ilomconfig. For more information, see Providing Host Credentials to the Service Processor.
For more information on enabling the Host-to-ILOM Interconnect, refer to Enabling the Host-to-ILOM Interconnect in Oracle Hardware Management Pack Installation Guide.
