ILOM Watchdog Overview

The ILOM watchdog enables the host to perform user-settable predefined actions when the host notices that Oracle ILOM has stopped responding.

You can control ILOM watchdog's parameters from the ilomconfig command, or by editing the HMP Watchdog Agent's configuration file.

See ILOM Watchdog Parameters for more information on the ILOM watchdog parameters that can be modified.

When ILOM watchdog determines that Oracle ILOM has stopped responding and therefore performs the timer action, it logs an appropriate message into the HMP watchdog log file, and the host's system log at /var/log/messages.

Note -  Using the ilomconfig command is the preferred method for controlling ILOM watchdog.
