check Subcommand Overview

The check subcommand checks the current host system firmware to determine if the latest minimum required version is installed. If the current version is older then the minimum required version, a message is displayed.

Running the minimum required firmware version ensures optimal performance, security, and stability of the system.


Note -  This feature is available with Oracle Hardware Management Pack 2.3.6 and later. For more information, see the Release Notes.

The following command syntax is used for the check subcommand:

fwupdate check target

The supported targets for the check subcommand are listed in the following table.

Target
Description
sp_bios
System firmware on x86 (BIOS) or SPARC (OBP, Hypervisor, NYX, POST, etc.), including Oracle ILOM.

Note -  This target has been deprecated for SPARC and is replaced by the sysfw target.

sysfw
System firmware on SPARC (OBP, Hypervisor, NYX, POST, etc.), including Oracle ILOM.
