Oracle ILOM does not support health query. Need to have ILOM 3.2.2 or greater.
|
Oracle ILOM watchdog requires Oracle ILOM 3.2.2 or later to support a health query by IPMI. If
you have an earlier version of Oracle ILOM, ILOM watchdog cannot be enabled.
|
Do one of the following:
-
Disable ILOM watchdog with the following command:
ilomconfig disable ilomwatchdog
-
Update Oracle ILOM to a later version.
After updating Oracle ILOM, run the following command to reload the watchdog:
/etc/init.d/hmp_watchdogd reload
or
service hmp_watchdogd reload
|
IPMI command failed connection. Check IPMI driver.
|
ILOM watchdog uses IPMI to communicate with Oracle ILOM.
If there is problem with IPMI on the host so that it is unable to communicate with Oracle
ILOM, and the ILOM watchdog is currently in Enable state, the ILOM watchdog automatically notices
this and changes to Inactive state.
|
Troubleshoot the IPMI driver on the host.
Once the IPMI problem is resolved, the ILOM watchdog detects it during the time of query
interval (default is 60 seconds) after the IPMI problem is resolved, and changes to Enable
state.
|
SP is not running Oracle ILOM.
|
ILOM watchdog is enabled, but the SP is not running Oracle ILOM.
If ILOM watchdog is currently in Enable state, the ILOM watchdog automatically notices this
and changes to Inactive state.
|
Reboot the SP.
When ILOM watchdog is in inactive state, once the SP is successfully rebooted, and ILOM
watchdog successfully sends a health query to Oracle ILOM, it automatically changes to Enable
state.
|
SP is not running Oracle ILOM or Host-to-ILOM Interconnect is not enabled.
|
On a platform with Emulex Pilot 3 BMC, and ILOM watchdog enabled, either the SP is not running
Oracle ILOM or Host-to-ILOM Interconnect is not enabled.
If ILOM watchdog is currently in Enable state, the ILOM watchdog automatically notices this
and changes to Inactive state.
|
Make sure Host-to-ILOM Interconnect is enabled, if so, make sure that the SP is running Oracle
ILOM.
When ILOM watchdog is in inactive state, once the Host-to-ILOM interconnect is enabled, the SP
is successfully running Oracle ILOM, and the ILOM watchdog successfully sends a health query to
Oracle ILOM, it will automatically change to Enable state.
|
Unknown failure in ILOM watchdog.
|
ILOM watchdog is enabled but encounters some unexpected errors
|
Report the failure to Oracle.
