The snapshot utility collects log files, executes various commands and collects their output, and sends the data collected to a user-defined location. The dataset property of the /SP/diag/snapshot target defines the data that is collected. See Snapshot Dataset Information (CLI).
The snapshot describes the state of the gateway at a particular moment in time. You can use this information for fault diagnosis.The snapshot utility requires administrator privileges.
-> set /SP/diag/snapshot dataset=value dump_uri=URI
where:
value is the type of dataset, as described in the table in Snapshot Dataset Information (CLI).
URI is the uniform resource indicator (FTP and SFTP supported)
For example, to take a snapshot of the normal dataset and transfer the snapshot using the FTP protocol to the /tftpboot/normal directory of the host with IP address 123.45.67.89 as the root user:
-> set /SP/diag/snapshot dataset=normal dump_uri=ftp://root:changeme@123.45.67.89//tftpboot/normal Set ’dataset’ to ’normal’ Set ’dump_uri’ to ’ftp://root:changeme@123.45.67.89//tftpboot/normal’ ->
The snapshot process takes several minutes to complete.
