Note - The administrator of the gateway has the username of root.
Configure the terminal or terminal emulator with these settings:
115200 baud
8 bits
No parity
1 Stop bit
No handshaking
You might see text similar to this:

where gateway_name is the host name of the management controller. Even if you do not see the text, go to Step 5.

The -> prompt is displayed.
Note - You can change the password at a later time. See Gateway Administration, changing the administrator password, for instructions on how to change the administrator password.
If you do not see this output or prompt, there is a problem with the serial configuration, the USB-to-serial adapter, or the management controller.
-> show /SP/Fabric_Mgmt NOTE: show on Fabric_Mgmt will launch a restricted Linux shell. User can execute switch diagnosis, SM Configuration and IB monitoring commands in the shell. To view the list of commands, use "help" at rsh prompt. Use exit command at rsh prompt to revert back to ILOM shell. FabMan@gateway_name->
