To customize an installation, first customize the installation instructions in an AI manifest and the system configuration instructions in a system configuration profile. Then specify client criteria to match the customized installation and configuration instructions with clients identified by that criteria.
An AI install service includes one or more AI manifests with installation instructions and zero or more system configuration profiles with configuration instructions. Each client uses one and only one AI manifest. Each client can use any number of system configuration profiles. If a client system does not use any profiles, then an interactive tool opens on that client at first boot after that client installation to complete the configuration of that client.
