Linking a catalog asset associates it with a parent asset. Linking is useful when you want a product to appear in multiple catalogs or categories. For example, suppose your catalog contains a product called Gas Hibachi in the Outdoors category. To make this product also appear in the Father’s Day Gifts category, simply link it to that category.

Linked assets have multiple parents: one parent for each location. When you make a change to the asset in one location, that change is reflected in all locations.

Note: You cannot link or unlink Media assets, promotions, facets, search configurations, SEO tags, or price lists.
