You can save changes to the search tests in order to reuse them for future tests. To run a saved test, just open the test and click Search.

If you often test the impact of searches on several tracked items, for example, you can save a test that contains those item IDs in the Track Items field so you don’t have to re-enter them each time. Or, you could create search tests tailored to specific segments or preview profiles and reuse them each time you modify your search configurations. You can even save facet selections. The next time you run the test, the saved facet selections are applied automatically.

Note: The Test Environment field is not saved with the search test. The availability of environment options depends on whether you are working in a project.

To save a search test:

  1. Create or edit a search test. For instructions, see Performing Search Tests.

  2. Click Save.

  3. In the Save dialog, type a name for the test.

Names of folders and tests do not have to be unique, even within the same parent folder.

  4. Select a parent folder where you want to store the test and click OK.

    • If you do not want other users to access the test, store it under the My Search Tests folder.

    • If you want other users to be able to view and run the search, store it under the Shared Search Tests folder.
