Recording Your Existing Configuration

Several zone setup decisions and procedures are affected by the configuration choices that you made when you first purchased your Oracle SuperCluster T5-8. Record your existing configuration in the following tables, and use this information as a reference for certain zone setup decisions and procedures.

For each SPARC T5-8 server, provide the following information:

  • The size of the Database Domains that you have on that server. Use this information to determine the maximum number of cores that you can use for each zone that you create on the Database Domains on that server.

For example, if you are setting up zones on a Small Domain in a Half Rack, then the maximum number of cores that you can assign to each zone created on that domain is sixteen. See Guidelines for Planning Zones for more information.

  • The number of IB HCAs that are associated with each Database Domain. This information is used as part of the configuration process with the Oracle Exadata Deployment Assistant (OEDA).

  • The specific location of each Database Domain. This information is also used to determine whether or not you must manually create VNETs for the host management network for certain Database Domains. See Host Management Network After Zone Creation for more information on such situations.

  • The 1GbE host management host name and IP address for each domain.
