Understanding the Networking Setup Before Zone Creation

Before you begin the process of setting up zones on the Database Domains, you should first understand how the networks were set up when you had your Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 installed. Getting a clear understanding of the existing network setup is helpful when understanding how the network setup will change when you configure zones on the Database Domains.

When your Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 was installed, the SPARC T5-8 servers and the domains created within each server were assigned host names and IP addresses that enabled for access to the host management, client access, and IB networks. The following figure shows a graphical representation of this initial setup.

The networks are configured differently, depending on the type of rack and the type of domains on each SPARC T5-8 server.
