Host Management Network Before Zone Creation (Half Rack)

There are four host management ports (NET0 to NET3) on each SPARC T5-8 server. The method that you use to connect to the host management network through these four host management ports varies, depending on the type of domain that you have set up on each SPARC T5-8 server:

  • Large Domain: Two out of the four 1GbE host management ports are part of one IPMP group for this domain:

    • NET0

    • NET3

  • Medium Domains: Two 1GbE host management ports are part of one IPMP group for each Medium Domain. Following are the 1GbE host management ports associated with each Medium Domain, depending on how many domains are on the SPARC T5-8 server in the Half Rack:

    • First Medium Domain: NET0-1

    • Second Medium Domain, if applicable: NET2-3

  • Small Domains: The number and type of 1GbE host management ports that are assigned to each Small Domain varies, depending on the CPU that the Small Domain is associated with:

    • CPU0: NET0 to 1

    • CPU1: NET1, NET3 (through virtual network devices)

    • CPU6: NET0, NET2 (through virtual network devices)

    • CPU7: NET2-3

See Half Rack Domain Configurations for more information on which CPU would be associated with certain Small Domains.
