Log In to Oracle ILOM CLI Using a Local Serial Connection
This procedure provides instructions for accessing to Oracle ILOM locally using a
serial connection, and it requires that you log in to Oracle ILOM using an account with
administrator privileges.
Before You Begin
You must have already connected a serial cable from a terminal (or terminal emulation client)
to the SER MGT port on the back of the server. For more information, see Cable the Server.

At the terminal (or terminal emulation client), ensure that the following serial communication
settings are configured:

8N1: eight data bits, no parity, one stop bit

9600 baud

Disable hardware flow control (CTS/RTS)

At the terminal keyboard, press Enter to establish the serial console connection to Oracle
ILOM.
A login prompt to Oracle ILOM appears.

Log in to the Oracle ILOM command-line interface (CLI) using an account with administrator
privileges.
Note -
The default Oracle ILOM Administrator account username is root
and its password is changeme. If this account has been changed,
contact your system administrator.
Oracle ILOM displays a default command prompt, indicating that you have successfully logged
in.
