Configure the BIOS Settings

  1. Open a terminal window to Oracle ILOM.
  2. Update the FRU identity properties by resetting the SP.
    -> reset /SP
  3. Reboot the system to enter BIOS.
    -> reset /SYS
    -> start /SP/console
  4. Enter Ctrl-E to open the BIOS menu.
  5. To restore the defaults:
    1. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Exit menu and choose Restore Defaults.
    2. Press Enter to Load Optimized Defaults.

    3. When a popup screen opens, press Enter to approve loading optimal defaults.
    4. Press ESC to return to the Main menu.
  6. Set the PCIe cards for each slot.
    1. Use the arrow keys to select the IO menu.
    2. Use the down arrow key to select Add In Cards.

    3. Select Slot 1.

    4. Select Disabled for OpROM in Slot 1.

    5. Repeat step 4b. and 4c. to set OpROM to Disabled for Slot 2 and Slot 3.
    6. Confirm OpROM is set to Enabled for the internal HBA in Slot 4.

    7. Press ESC to return to the Main menu.
  7. Set the Persistent Boot Mode, using these steps:
    1. Select the Boot menu.
    2. Arrow down and select Persistent Boot Mode, and set it to Enabled.

    3. Verify that UEFI/BIOS Boot Mode, at the top of the list, is set to Legacy.

    4. Return to the Main menu.
  8. Save the changes and exit the utility.
    1. Go to the Exit menu.
    2. Select Save Changes and Exit.

      The system reboots.
