RAID Configuration Tools

This section describes some of the tools used to configure RAID.

If you are preparing disk drives to install an operating system, use Oracle System Assistant or the BIOS RAID configuration utilities.


Caution

Caution  -  These procedures erase all data on the configured disks, including the operating system if one is present.

Oracle System Assistant
See Oracle System Assistant. Graphical server management tool that can be used to configure drives before the operating system is installed.

BIOS RAID Configuration Utilities
  • LSI MegaRAID BIOS Configuration Utility: Simple, graphical RAID configuration utility that resides on the HBA. Accessible during the server boot process if server is booted in Legacy BIOS Boot Mode.

  • Human Interface Infrastructure (HII) Configuration Utility: Simple, graphical RAID configuration utility that resides on the HBA. Accessible from the Advanced menu in the BIOS Setup Utility. Available when the server is booted in UEFI Boot Mode.

Server hardware installation guide
Oracle Hardware Management Pack
See Oracle Hardware Management Pack. Command-line server management tool that can be used to configure drives (except boot drives) after the operating system has been installed.
Review the output of the raidconfig list controller subcommand.
