Before you can install software and firmware updates, you must obtain them. Use one of the following options:
Oracle System Assistant: Using Oracle System Assistant you can download updates from My Oracle Support.
To use Oracle System Assistant to obtain and install updates, see Install Software and Firmware Updates.
My Oracle Support: You can download updates directly from My Oracle Support. Then, you can use Oracle System Assistant, Oracle ILOM, Oracle Hardware Management Pack, or the operating system command-line to install them. Each tool is capable of installing a subset of the updates available for the server. To decide which tool is best suited to update the server, see Software Release Overview.
