The Send Email action sends a specified e-mail message to the visitors who have reached this point in the scenario. (See also the Send Notification action above.)

Example: Send e-mail with path ATG Commerce Reference

Page developers use the Pages and Components > Pages area of the ATG Control Center to create the text for the e-mail messages. For more information, see Working with Targeted E-Mail.

If the action follows an event that is site aware (for example, Logs In or Registers), you can also specify a Web site so that the e-mail message can contain site-specific references. Example:

Logs in where Site is CRS Home > Send e-mail with path ATG Commerce
Reference Store:/emailtemplates/backInStockNotify.jsp with site
Event's Site

In this example, the site specified in the Logs In event, CRS Home, is picked up by the Send Email action (Event's Site is CRS Home) and can be used to customize the content of the e-mail message:

“Welcome back! The item you backordered on CRS Home is ready to ship.”
