Child facets allow end-users to further refine their search results. To add a child facet:
In the Administration Options menu, go to Search Workbench > Customizations > Refinement Configurations > Your Facet Set.
Click Add New Facet.
Enter the facet name, and the property on which the refinement is based.
Select the property type: float, integer, string, date, enum, or boolean.
Set the Facet Value Selections options.
Facet Value Sorting determines how facets are sorted. The sorting options are: Alphanumeric, Value Count, Range Order, or Explicit Order.
Other options are shown on the page, depending on which Facet Value Sorting option is selected.
If Range Order is selected, you can set a Selection Option:
Selection option—Select an option to indicate the type of range for the facet values.
Dynamic-range selections – generate automatically based on guidelines:
Fixed-range selections – generate selections based on guidelines:
Specified selection ranges – generate selections using these range points:
If Explicit Order is selected, you can set the following:
Specified Facet Values—Returns only values you list, in the order you provides.
Excluded Facet Values—Does not return values specified.
Configured the Advanced settings (optional):
Filter values by the active query constraints
Decimal Precision of floating point ranges
Evaluation Levels
Value Mapped Data
Conditional Parent Selection
Click Create if you are finished adding facets or Create & Add Another to add more child facets at this level.
