For Endeca-driven pages, the configuration provided in the endeca-seo-url-config.xml file (discussed in Accessing Endeca Components in Nucleus) specifies the SEO-friendly formatting used for the page URLs. This file sets the property values of several Endeca beans that are used by the seoUrlFormatter bean. These properties configure the beans to encode the query parameters and to include dimension value labels in the URLs. For example, the URL for an Endeca-driven page might look similar to this:

http://www.example.com:80/crs/homeus/browse/Home-Accents-Lamps-and-
Lighting/Brand-StyleForce7/_/N-7syZ1z141s9

The Endeca beans are configured to include the dimension value names for the Category and Brand dimensions. For the Category dimension, the hierarchy of ancestor categories is included in the URL, as in the example above. For the Brand dimension, Brand is prepended to the dimension value name.

See the Oracle Endeca Commerce Assembler Application Developer’s Guide for information about configuring Endeca URLs.
