Air flows from the front (fan end) of the switch to the rear (connector end) of the switch. Air flows through the power supplies from the sides of the switch to out the front.
Follow these guidelines to ensure unrestricted airflow in the switch:
Install the switch so that the front faces the cool aisle and the rear faces the warm aisle.
Do not direct warm air into the switch.
Prevent recirculation of air within a rack or cabinet.
After servicing the switch, ensure that the air duct assembly is properly installed.
Route cables so that they do not interfere with airflow.
Install the air duct assembly at the front of the switch.
