Create a Database Home

See Database Home Overview for more information about the database home.

Note -  Do not click on the Refresh button in your browser while in the Create Database Home page. Doing so will return you to the Welcome to MiniCluster Configuration Utility page. If that happens, click on the DB Home link in the configuration wizard, as shown in the following figure.
  1. Use the Create Database Home page to create the database home.

  2. From the Select Database Version menu, select the database version.

    Options are:

    • 11g Enterprise Edition

    • 12c Enterprise Edition

    • 12c Standard Edition 2

  3. In the Oracle Home Path field, type the Oracle home path.

This is the directory path for the Oracle Database. The default is /u01/app/oracle/product/release_number/dbhome_number.

In this example, /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1 is used for the Oracle home path.

  4. From the Select Patch level menu, select the patch level for this Oracle database version.
  5. Click the Create button.

The Create Oracle Database Home status page appears. The process to create an Oracle database home could take roughly one hour.

Once you have created a database home for one virtual machine within a database virtual machine group, the MiniCluster software automatically replicates this database home information for every other virtual machine within this database virtual machine group.

  6. When the process of creating the Oracle database home has successfully completed, click the Finish button.

The Create Database Instance page appears. Go to Create a Database Instance.
