CIM simplifies ATG product configuration by providing a script that steps through the installation and configuration of the ATG Service components. This ensures that all necessary steps are completed and are performed in the correct order. Use CIM to get your installation running.
Note: It is strongly suggested that you use CIM for your ATG Service installation to ensure that you have installed and configured all of the necessary components.
CIM handles the following configuration steps:
Creates data sources according to the database connection information you supplied, including those needed for the data warehouse and Search
Creates database tables and imports initial data
Creates and configures servers, including a lock manager and a required loader servers
Deploys EAR files to your application server
Refer to the CIM script help and the ATG Installation and Configuration Guide for additional information on CIM.
To configure ATG Service using CIM, do the following:
Install your application server.
Install your application files.
Start CIM by going to
<ATG10dir>/home/bin
and type:cim.sh | bat
Select the products you want to install.
Select add-ons as appropriate.
Continue through CIM according to the prompts. Type H at any prompt for additional information.
