You must initialize the folders for storing attachments before you create or migrate any solutions.
If you are using ATG Self Service: Perform these steps after completing the deployment topology, but before creating or migrating any solutions.
If you are not using ATG Self Service: Perform these steps after installing workflows that do not contain deployment steps, but before creating or migrating any solutions. If you install ATG Self Service at a later date, then after you have performed at least one full deployment in your installation, you do not need to repeat these steps.
Note: If you plan to change the folders in which attachments are stored complete that task before following the steps for initializing folders.
