This action uses a regular expression (regEx) to search the HTML of the document body and stores the specified result in the custom data field.
The following configuration options are available for this action:
Custom Data Field: This is used to specify which custom data field should be populated with the value taken from the regEx comparison.
RightNow Custom Data Field: If you are a RightNow customer, this field is used to specify which of the RightNow Custom Data fields should be populated with the value taken from the regEx comparison. If you select Custom Data Field from the dropdown list a further configuration option is displayed:
RightNow Custom Data Field ID: This is used to specify the ID for the custom data field that should be populated with the value taken from the regEx comparison.
Regular expression: This is used to search the page source HTML and match on a value or specific part of the value to be assigned to the custom data field.
Test Regular Expression: This button enables you to provide a sample of text against which to test the regEx specified for this action. Type in some sample text and press the Test button. A tick or cross is displayed to indicate whether the regEx is valid when run against the sample text provided.
Trim Whitespace from Matched Value: This is used to specify whether or not to trim leading or trailing whitespace before populating the custom data field. Checking the box means that leading or trailing whitespace shall be removed.
Use RegEx Global Match Result item: If the regEx was carried out using global matching, this configuration option is used to specify which item from the results array should be used to populate the custom data field.
