Switch on PDU Circuit Breakers

Note -  The sequence in this section, where power is restored first to the odd numbered power supplies, and then to the even numbered power supplies, applies to factory-installed configurations with a SPARC M8-8 or SPARC M7-8 server in the bottom of an Oracle rack. In other configurations, where a SPARC M8-8 or SPARC M7-8 server might be installed in a different location in the rack, power is still restored first to the odd numbered power supplies (1, 3, 5), and then to the even numbered power supplies (0, 2, 4). See Install a PDU for detailed steps for various configurations.
  1. Notify users that you are preparing to apply power to the server.
  2. Turn breakers on in the following sequence.
    • For SPARC M8-8 and SPARC M7-8 servers:

      • L2, L1, L0

      • R6, R7, R8

    • For a SPARC M7-16 server:

      • R4, R5, L5, L4

      • R0, R1, R2, L8, L7, L6

      • R6, R7, R8, L2, L1, L0

where R indicates the right PDU from the rear of the server (PDU B), L indicates the left PDU from the rear of the server (PDU A), and the number represents the PDU group number.

Note -  As soon as PDU circuit breakers are switched on, standby power is applied, and the SP boots.
  3. Start the system.

See Restart the Server or Host (Oracle ILOM).
