Servicing PCIe Cards

Each CMIOU in the server has three slots, each of which can hold one PCIe x16 hot-plug card carrier. Each of these carriers contains a single low-profile PCIe card. For the location of the PCIe cards, see Rear Indicator Panel Controls and LEDs.

Caution

Caution  -  To remove a PCIe card that is assigned to an I/O domain, first remove the device from the I/O domain. For more information about making hardware changes to an I/O domain, refer to the Oracle VM for SPARC documentation at http://www.oracle.com/goto/vm-sparc/docs.

Note -  Always update PCIe card firmware to the latest supported version. Refer to the PCIe card documentation for the firmware update instructions.

These topics explain how to service the PCIe cards that are installed in the PCIe card carriers in the server.
