In the following example, the dladm command lists two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (ce0 and ce1) and the ifconfig command shows that only the ce0 interface is being used. Refer to the dladm(1M) and ifconfig(1M) man pages for more information.
# dladm show-link ce0 type: legacy mtu: 1500 device: ce0 ce1 type: legacy mtu: 1500 device: ce1 # ifconfig -a lo0: flags=2001000849 <UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index 1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 ce0: flags=1000843 <UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2 inet 192.168.84.253 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.84.255 ether 0:3:ba:7:84:5e
# ifconfig interface plumb up
Replace interface with the network interface device (for example, ce0, hme0, qfe1, and so on). For example, to plumb an unused ce1 interface, type:
#ifconfig ce1 plumb up
# ifconfig interface IPv4-address netmask + netmaskbroadcast broadcastup
Replace:
For example:
# ifconfig ce1 192.168.0.5 netmask + 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255 up
