Enabling the All Other Groups Control

Every solution in Knowledge Manager is associated with an owning group. Owning groups define the ATG Service users who have access to read and edit a solution. When a Service Center user creates a new solution, that user must select the owning group that will be associated with the solution.

If a Service Center user is assigned an organization role for an organization that is configured as an owning group, that user has access to the owning group. The owning group will appear in the My Groups section of the Owning Group control on the Contribute page.

You can allow Service Center users to contribute solutions to owning groups to which the users do not have access. These owning groups appear in the All Other Groups section of the Owning Group control on the Contribute page. If a user chooses an owning group from the All Other Groups section for a new solution, the user will not have any further access to that solution.

To enable the All Other Groups control on the Contribute page:

You can allow these users to configure a default owning group that will be associated with newly created solutions. If you allow users to select a default owning group, they will still be able to select other owning groups for a new solution if needed.

To allow users to configure a default owning group:
