Accessing the Application

Unless you plan to use the sample Self Service application as-is, without any re-branding or incorporation into your existing Web application, you will want to modify the Self Service pages, and perhaps the entire application itself. Follow these steps to access the application.

  1. Use WinZip or the jar xvf command to expand the <ATG10dir>/Service10.1/
    Service/SelfService/extensions/j2ee-apps/selfservice.ear     file into the <ATG10dir>/Service10.1/Service/SelfService/j2ee-apps/selfservice-ear directory.

    Edit the <ATG10dir>/Service10.1/Service/SelfService/extensions/
    j2ee-apps/selfservice-ear/META-INF/application.xml     file <web-uri> property as follows:

    <web-uri>
            _knowledgebase-userexperience
    </web-uri>

  2. In the <ATG10dir>/Service10.1/Service/SelfService/extensions/
    j2ee-apps/selfservice-ear/META-INF/DYNAMO-INF     directory change all of the files to include the following:

    <module-uri>_selfservice</module-uri>

  3. Re-assemble the application into an EAR file and deploy it to the appropriate location. Start your application.
