A host storage device is a remote storage image that can be mounted through NFS or SAMBA to behave through the Serial Redirection Service like a directly attached storage device.
The pane displays the current status and mode of the host storage device, the URI of the mounted NFS or SAMBA server, and the SAMBA user name and password required for authentication.
