  1. Open a web browser on a host that is on the same Ethernet network as the SP that will receive the firmware update.
  2. Go to this URL and sign in.

    http://support.oracle.com

    Note -  If you do not have an account, you must register.
  3. Click the Patches & Updates tab.
  4. In the Patch Search window, click the Search tab.
  5. Click the Product or Family (Advance) link.
  6. In the Product Is drop-down menu, select Oracle EDR IB Switch.
  7. In the Release Is drop-down menu, select Oracle EDR IB Switch w.x.y.z.

    where w.x.y.z is the version number of the firmware package to be acquired. For example, 1.0.1.0.

  8. Click outside of the drop-down menu, then click Search.

    The Patch Search window expands with the search results.

  9. In the Patch Name column, click the respective patch number link, then click Download.
  10. (Optional) Click Read Me to display the README file.

    The README file contains the latest information about the firmware release.

    Find the firmware image file. The firmware is a .tar file with the same name as the link you clicked in the previous step.

  13. Unpack the .gz file.

    For example, type:

    $ gtar -zxvf filename_w.x.y.z.tar.gz

    The extracted files are displayed.
