SNMP Overview

The Oracle ILOM implementation on the SP within the switch can communicate the state of and enable remote management of Oracle ILOM through SNMP.

An SNMP client is required to interface with the Oracle ILOM SNMP agent on the SP. The SNMP client must have the appropriate Oracle ILOM MIBs installed. These MIBs are included in the Oracle ILOM firmware package that you downloaded.

The MIBs are also available using the CLI or web interface. See Download SNMP Service MIBs (Oracle ILOM CLI) or Download SNMP Service MIBs (Oracle ILOM Web).

Using the SNMP protocol, the client sends requests in the form of object identifiers (OIDs) to the server on the SP. The tables in Understanding SNMP MIB OIDs list object identifiers.
