Enabling SNMPv2c Notifications

  1. Select Device Settings → Network Services → SNMP.
  2. In the SNMP Agent, ensure Enable SNMP v1/v2c is selected.
  3. In the SNMP Notifications section, ensure Enable SNMP Notifications is selected.
  4. Select SNMPv2c Trap or SNMPv2c Inform as the notification type.
  5. Type values in the following fields and click Save.

    Note -  Any changes you make to the SNMP Notifications section on the SNMP page updates the settings of the System SNMP Notification Action, and vice versa.
    SNMPv2c Notification Setting
    Description
    Timeout
    Interval of time, in seconds, after which a new inform communication is resent if the first is not received. For example, resend a new inform communication once every 3 seconds.
    Number of Retries
    Number of times you want to resend the inform communication if it fails. For example, inform communications are resent up to 5 times when the initial communication fails.
    Host
    IP address of the device(s) you want to access. This is the address to which notifications are sent by the SNMP agent. You can specify up to 3 SNMP destinations.
    Port
    Port number used to access the device(s).
    Community
    SNMP community string to access the device(s). The community is the group representing the HPDU and all SNMP management stations.
