To force the serial port on the HPDU to enter a device detection mode, at
the config:# prompt, type serial deviceDetectionType
<mode>, and press Enter.
<mode> is one of the detection modes:
Detection Mode
Description
automatic
HPDU automatically detects the type of the device
connected to the serial port.
Select this option unless your HPDU cannot correctly
detect the device type.
forceConsole
HPDU attempts to recognize that the connected device
is set for the console mode.
forceAnalogModem
HPDU attempts to recognize that the connected device
is an analog modem.
forceGsmModem
HPDU attempts to recognize that the connected device
is a GSM modem.
