DIMM Configuration
Full-population and half-population configurations are supported. The figure shows a CMIOU with all of the DIMM slots populated with DIMMs. In a half-populated configuration, DIMMs are installed only in the slots displayed in black.

Follow these guidelines when replacing DIMMs in a CMIOU:

SPARC M8-8 servers: Use either all 32-Gbyte or all 64-Gbyte DDR4 DIMMs or all 128-Gbyte DIMMs.
Note - As of System Firmware version 9.10.3, the configuration of 128 GB DIMMs are supported. -
SPARC M7-8 and SPARC M7-16 servers: Use all 16-Gbyte, all 32-Gbyte, or all 64-Gbyte DDR4 DIMMs.

Ensure that all DIMMs in a CMIOU are the same size and type. Do not mix 32GB LRDIMMs (4R x 4Gb) and 32 GB RDIMMs (2R x 8Gb) in the same CMIOU.

If you are using DIMMs of different capacities in the same host, ensure that all DIMMs in a CMIOU have the same capacity.

Use only Oracle qualified DIMMs.
