Understanding PCIe Card Device and Service Paths
Every slot location has three unique methods of identification:
-
A physical location consists of the CMIOU number and the PCIe slot.
-
The device path is how the Oracle Solaris hotplug command
identifies a slot location.
-
The service path is how the Oracle ILOM show command
identifies a slot location.
-
The BUS name is the value you supply to assign a root complex to a logical
domain.
Note -
In half-populated configurations, PCIe slots are unused for an empty CMIOU
slot.

PCIe Card Paths (Bottom CMIOU Chassis)
These are the CMIOU numbers, device paths, and service paths for each PCIe card
slot in the SPARC M8-8 server, the SPARC M7-8 server, and the SPARC M7-16 server
bottom CMIOU chassis.
