Perform Tasks Using Oracle System Assistant

  • Use Oracle System Assistant to perform the tasks listed in the following table.

    Note -  For a complete list of tasks that you can perform with Oracle System Assistant, refer to Oracle X5 Series Servers Administration Guide at http://www.oracle.com/goto/x86admindiag/docs.

    Review system information and inventory.

    Set up Oracle System Assistant network connection.
    Configure Network

    Get the latest software and firmware that will be used by Oracle System Assistant.
    Get Updates

    Update Oracle ILOM, BIOS, disk expanders, or HBA firmware, if needed. Use the latest supported BIOS and firmware versions available.
    Update Firmware

    Configure Oracle ILOM. This helps prepare the service processor for access.
    Configure Hardware → Service Processor Configuration

    Configure RAID.

    Note -  Data loss. Do not use this option on a disk with a preinstalled OS.

    Restore BIOS to its default settings.
    Configure Hardware → Restore BIOS Defaults

    Install an Oracle Solaris, Linux, Oracle VM, or Windows Server operating system or drivers.

    Note -  Do not use this option if your system came with a preinstalled OS.
