Begin the Diagnostic Process

Follow this process when you are informed of or recognize a problem.

  1. Are you sure you know the cause of the problem?
  2. Is the cause from a software failure or hardware failure?
    • Hardware – Go to Step 3.
    • Software – The solution is beyond the scope of this document.

      Refer to the Oracle EDR InfiniBand Switch and Virtualized I/O Systems Administration Guide and the software troubleshooting documentation. If necessary, contact your authorized Oracle Service Provider.

  3. Are you sure you know the solution to the hardware problem?
  4. Replace the problematic component.

  5. Are you in the physical presence of the switch?
