Install the Battery
Installing the battery is a hot-swap operation. You do not need to power off the switch before installing the battery.
 | Caution - The slot located adjacent to the left power supply, PS 0, is dedicated to the SMM. Inserting a fan module in this slot, or inserting the SMM into a fan module slot, will damage both the module and the switch. |

If you are replacing the battery, remove the faulty battery first, then return
to Step 2 of this task.

Remove the new battery from its packaging and align it to the holder where it
will install.
With the SER MGT port facing away from you, the plus side of the battery is angled down toward the left.

Insert the edge of the battery into the holder, and then pivot it upright to
the right.
The battery clicks into place.

Align the SMM to the opening in the switch chassis with the thumbscrew on the
right.
- Firmly slide the SMM into the chassis until the SMM stops.

Tighten the captive thumbscrew to secure the SMM in the switch chassis.

Verify the battery.
