Determine if the Switch Is Faulty

Language:

You must determine if the switch is faulty before you replace it.

Consider your first step.
- If you are at the switch, go to Step 2.
- If you are remote to the switch, go to Step 3.

Check to see if the Service Action Required LED is on.
See Chassis Status LEDs.
- If the SP LED is off, replace the switch.
  Start at Remove the Air Duct Assembly.
- If you cannot determine if the switch is faulty, go to Step 3.

Access the Oracle ILOM CLI.
See Accessing the SP.

Determine if the switch has become problematic.

-> show /System/Open_Problems

If you see the words temp and fail, or voltage and fail, and either Oracle ILOM targets /SYS/MB or /SYS/SP in the output, then replace the switch.
Start at Remove the Air Duct Assembly.
If you see a different component identified in the output, then service that component.

Within the Oracle ILOM interface, display the fault state of main board components.

In the output, look for the rows beginning with /SYS, /SYS/MB, and /SYS/SP.

If their fault states are anything other than OK, replace the switch. Start at Remove the Air Duct Assembly.
