Read the Switch Serial Number (Oracle ILOM)

If you require technical support for your switch, you will be asked to provide the chassis serial number. You can read the chassis serial number from a pull-out strip located on the front of the switch, to the left of the left power supply. Additionally, there is an RFID tag on the SER MGT module.

You must remove the air duct assembly to access the strip or RFID tag. See Remove the Air Duct Assembly for instructions on how to read the serial number from the plastic strip or RFID tag.

If it is not convenient to read the strip or the RFID tag, you can use Oracle ILOM to obtain the chassis serial number.

1. Access the Oracle ILOM CLI.

   See Accessing the SP.

2. Display the serial number.

   -> show /SYS product_serial_number
    
   /SYS
    	Properties:
    		product_serial_number = 1133BDN082
   ->
