External user segments, which are used for ATG Self Service solution view access and statement personalization, are managed using the management server’s BCC and follow the Segments and Targeters workflow. After you create an external user segment, you must deploy the project in which the segment was created. When you deploy the project to the customer-facing server, the user segments are also deployed to the agent-facing server.
You use external user segments to create solution external audiences. A solution’s external audience determines who can view the solution from your ATG Self Service website. In Service, external user segments are created in the BCC on the management server. You must be using the BCC on the management server to create and configure external user segments. You will not be able to access external user segments on the agent-facing server.
