Oracle X7-8 CPU Packages

Before you can configure different socket modes for Oracle Server X7-8, you need to obtain the required Oracle X7-8 CPU Module Packages from Oracle. Contact your sales representative for information about ordering the CPU module packages.

Oracle Server X7-8 CPU Module package includes one CMOD. Each CMOD supports one processor (CPU). To produce a dual 4-socket server or a single 8-socket server, you need to order four CPU module packages. In a dual 4-socket configuration, the two sides of the system can support either identical or different processor SKUs and memory. In an 8-socket configuration, System A must have Intel Xeon 81xx series processors installed, and System A and System B processor SKUs and memory (capacity and number of DIMMs per CMOD) must be identical.

Processor and memory options for each CPU module package include the following:

  • Processors (CPUs):

    • One Intel Xeon Platinum 8168 Processor, 24-core, 2.7-GHz (single 8-socket (1x8) server)

    • One Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 Processor, 24-core, 2.1-GHz (single 8-socket (1x8) server)

    • One Intel Xeon Gold 6140 processor, 18-core, 2.3-GHz

    • One Intel Xeon Gold 6128 Processor, 6-core, 3.4-GHz

  • Memory (DIMMs): (DDR4-2666) 6 or 12 DIMMs of each capacity supported, 12 DIMMs maximum

    • 16-GB RDIMMs

    • 32-GB RDIMMs

    • 64-GB LRDIMMs
