Remove the Filter

Removing the air filter is a hot-swap operation. You do not need to power off the server before you remove the air filter.

1. Follow safety and ESD precautions.

   See Preparing for Service.

2. Press down on the two release latches.
   
3. Tilt and pivot the air filter away from the server.
   
4. Lift the air filter from the server.
5. Set the air filter aside.
6. Consider your next step.
   • If you removed the air filter to replace it, install the new air filter.

     See Install the Filter.

   • If you removed the air filter as part of another component's service procedure, return to that procedure.
