Remove the Top Cover

1. Remove the server from the rack.

   See Removing the Server From the Rack.

2. Fully loosen the two captive screws at the rear of the top cover.
   
3. Slide the top cover back 0.5 in (13 mm), and lift it straight up and off the chassis.
   

   Set the top cover aside.

4. Consider your next step.

   Service these components:

   • Servicing Fan Modules
   • Servicing PCIe Cards
   • Servicing the Battery
   • Remove the Fan Tray
