The spelling mode can be selected using the Dgidx
--spellmode
flag.
The default spelling mode is
aspell
, which enables only the Aspell
module.

If a spelling mode that includes use of the Espell module is enabled, an
additional Dgidx flag,
--spellnum
, can be used to control the contents
of the Espell dictionary.
The default is to disable
--spellnum
. With this flag enabled, the Espell
dictionary will be allowed to contain non-word terms. A word term is one that
contains only ASCII alphabetic characters and ISO-Latin1 word characters listed
in Appendix C. In default mode, non-word terms are not allowed in the Espell
dictionary.
Note
Auto-correct should be relatively conservative. You only want the engine to complete the correction when there is a high degree of confidence. For more aggressive suggestions, it is best to use Did You Mean.
