Reformatting a snippet for display in your Web application

After the MDEX Engine returns a snippet property to your application, you can remove or replace the <endeca_term> tags from the snippet before displaying it in a record list page.

To reformat a snippet for display in a front-end Web application:

  1. Add application code to replace the <endeca_term> tags in a snippet property with an HTML formatting tag, such as <B> (bold), to highlight search terms in a snippet.

Your Web application can display the snippet as a property on a record list page like other Oracle Commerce properties. For details, see the section about Displaying Oracle Commerce records.
